‘03 Mercedes-Benz C230 VS “00 BMW 528i, which one should I buy?

I need to buy a car since my ‘92 VW Passat is falling apart. My choices are ‘03 Mercedes-Benz C230 (mileage 75K for $ 18K) and ‘00 BMW 528i (mileage 83K for $ 16K). I love my Passat for it’s sturdiness (gives the the feeling of control) and reliable (I’ve had this car for 10 years). I drive about 60 miles per day to my office + running errands on weekends. I wanna get the most value for the bucks that I’m gonna spend, so between those two which one do you think I should get? What are the ups and downs of those two vehicles? Thanks

The benz c230 is considered large sedan where the bmw has little more mileage but its going to be much smoother drive especially with your 60 mile commute than the small benz c230.
